Why don't people just drive classic/antique cars?

Question: Why don't people just drive classic/antique cars?

(Posted by: Bay on 2009-09-05 18:28:13)

They're practically superior in everything except fuel economy. They are durable, long lasting, they have a solid metal body, they have reliable engines, they're stylish, and most importantly they aren't all identical like today's cars and trucks. Why can't the American auto industry return to its heyday instead of building the crap it churns out now? Hey backblade bitch I bet your Honda won't last for the 63 years this car has http:/ / i32.photobucket.com/ albums/ d28/ Bowserfire/ 1946.jpg or even the 45 years my car has . You fail to see how these cars, after running for longer than you've been alive, are superior to the plastic cars of today. PS the bodies are made of metal not plastic and so they're built much better and have a frame several times stronger. http:/ / i32.photobucket.com/ albums/ d28/ Bowserfire/ 015- 1.jpg http:/ / i32.photobucket.com/ albums/ d28/ Bowserfire/ 019.jpg This is a survivor of 45 years and as long as I live it will live another 45 if need be.

They take up a crap load of gas, they take alot of money to fix, some have no seat belt, and some dont have air conditiioning, and plus not so great on insurance rates

Because there is a limited amount of those old vehicles, and an estimated million vehicles in america's wild rusting to pieces at this moment, in washington state you can find thousands of cars in the woods that have been almost completely covered by moss Although if you want a recent automobile with a standard made like back then, I would suggest h1 or even h2 hummer, they were both made by AM general that also makes stuff for the us military which is made to last decades under the harshest conditions

I wouldn't let nostalgia impede rational thought. They're actually inferior in almost every way. They're less safe, have horrible handling, they rust easier, they're less reliable, terrible fuel economy, dirtier emissions, they have none of the modern amenities we take for granted.
