Help, dog breeds? ASAP!?
dog breed that has the same nature as a border collie but one that doesnt need as much exercise as i am not sure whether i am going to have enough time due to it sounds like they need about 3 hours exercise
Aggresive dog breeds stereotypes? The extremes of the scale?
I mean I don't get it, for example I am the first person who should be scared of dog attack seeing as I was attacked as a child. Everyone always says Staffies are right up there with whatever breed has the egg head pitbulls, but honestly I have never met a staffy I haven't liked. And my cousin has a rotweiler, he USED to be crazy, but now hes older and wiser hes great, especially with my cousins 2 kids. That being said the egg head breed whos breed name I can't remember pitbulls, I have NEVER met one I've liked. I never get a good 'vibe' off them. Same with Labs, yes I know, labs, so called sweet labs, I know about 5. They are all really standoffish. What I'm trying to say is that isn't it ironic that someone like myself gets along with the breeds I should be staying away from, yet stays away from the breeds that supposedly shouln't be a problem. So how can a breed be bred tongue twister much to such extreme ends of scale? Like the sweetest dog to the most dominating dog? Is it all training upbringing? Or does genetics play a part?

What type of people are the following dog breeds for?
By type of people I mean profession and personality wise personality can mean submissive or dominant etc. . I know it differs but give me a general idea. Profession can mean someone like a doctor or engineer and personality can mean someone who is very bossy or someone who is laid back.1. Husky.2. Alaskan Malamute I own one, first time I have ever owned a dog and these guys can get really annoying, happy that I brought one though .3. German Shepherds.4. Rottweilers.5. Kuvasz.
Help on dog breeds/what to get?
I had my heart set on getting an American Pit bull Terrier, but we now realize that our insurance would not cover us anymore if we were to get an APBT. Can anyone think of a dog that I would like. I would like to teach the dog to swim, run by my bike, jog, nice walker, medium to large size dog, good with pets and children, easy to train, lovable, and loyal. All answers would help me.

What are some good large dog breeds?
Our family has been considering getting a dog for a few months and we have decided on a large or extra large breed.We are able to take care of a dog this size and have the proper environment to give as much exercise as needed, except to the point of a super active dog like a Border Collie, we're in the suburban area and don't have acreage for that.I personally have experience owning a Siberian Husky who was a real alpha female. She lived with me, and eventually my wife for a good long 13 years, so demanding and dominant dog breeds are okay.Hopefully someone can help us narrow down the list of some 700 breeds even further to the breed that is right for us.We do have a few we are considering already though, so I will post them here, and if a few seem 'off', then feel free to say so Borzoi,Saluki,English Springer Spaniel,Collie,German Shepard,And the good old Golden Retriever.If you can suggest a breed that may be better, or agree on one that's listed, please do so, I'm thankful of any input towards this decision.Thank you all for your input, it helps more than you thinkEspecially you Chloe, such a detailed answer with great suggestions, ideas, and links.. and we will definitely look into 'Newfies', from what I'm now reading they're a very lovely breed.

Can anyone provide a list of smaller dog breeds that are still fairly manly? I need a dog that can live well in an apartment. I am willing to exercise the dog as much as it needs.

HiWhen I have a spare hour I Research all Different dog breeds and read up on them, I have a dog and not looking for another one at this moment in time. I just love looking at each individual breed.The other night I came across one and ever since I can't find the breed I looked at I really did like this breed but can't remember so maybe you guys might know.Not much to go on I'm afraid but It was a white dog, maybe it was fluffy it was medium in size, The one thing that caught my eye was it said the dog had a double coat I think it said non shredding? and it stay Pretty much clean itself?Know what he is?
